I think the heat got to me finally. We haven't had an air conditioner all summer and this week has been at peak temps in the 90s with a heat index of over 100. Our house was 89 and humid. I'd been feeling hot but ok, just stayed in front of our fans and drank TONS of water. I woke up this morning feeling light headed, dizzy, and not in working shape. So i stayed home, slept as long as Kiley let me and waited for some improvement. We were finally able to have someone come look at the air conditioner and our home was finally at a normal temperature. Humidity eventually dried and I was feeling much better.
I had two appointments today. First...an ultrasound! it was awesome. The technician was very knowledgeable and she made it a point to tell us exactly what we were looking at. She also explained different physiological processes to help us understand why she was instructed to look at certain things. One I remember clearly, since mine are not so great, is that the kidneys start as a single organ and split in the first few months of pregnancy. We had to make sure the Baby's kidneys were no longer fused and had split into two...which they had. She measured all sorts of things, like the brain, parts of the spine. A few times she had to tell us to look away so we wouldn't catch parts that could easily reveal Baby's gender. I told her before she started the ultrasound that we were waiting to find out and she said "ok, i'll just call the baby a HE then, just to keep it simple." Mike swears he heard her slip once and say "she" but I only heard her say "he" and "baby". Mike already thought the baby would be a girl and now he's more sure. Landon is still convinced he's getting a brother. We shall see who's right on the birthing day!
SATURDAY JULY 23
I got to spend most of today with just the kiddos while Mike toured the new Viking's stadium. It stormed pretty hard so we stayed indoors and had a movie day. Tangled and The Emperor's New Groove made the rain go away. Hopefully the sun will come out and dry up the trampoline...they'd been waiting.
I felt the baby pushing out today. I found out yesterday that I have an anterior placenta. That means movements will be strong later on because my placenta will be blocking me from feeling much. So anything i feel now is so special! I talked to the Baby, telling him/her to stay in there for awhile, longer than his sister did. Said he/she is safe in there and to enjoy it. I said I'd really like to have a waterbirth and can't unless we go longer than 37 weeks. I'm hoping Baby heard me and agrees!
THURSDAY JULY 28
So this week obviously got away with me. Where did it go? I don't remember most of it. Good thing I don't drink. Well, and even if i did, I wouldn't be now anyway because I'M PREGNANT!!!!! Sometimes i have to remind myself of that because it still seems like a dream to be pregnant again. Mike and I never talked about having three children, always just two. But now that a third one is officially on the way, it feels so natural. We were meant to have three children. Three living children...let's not forget those we've lost, because they mean just as much to us. So technically we will be parents to six children. :)
