TWIN CITIES, MINNESOTA On a clear-blue afternoon, the sun beaming down, the air warm and comfortable with a refreshing light breeze, someone in Florida was enjoying a photo shoot on the beach. At the same time, here in Minnesota, a gorgeous mother-to-be (for the second time) was braving intermittent clouds, cutting wind and a 35-degree temperature to capture what will be some of her baby's earliest memories. This photo shoot was a special one because they are my family and I couldn't be happier for them. It's difficult to tell from the images how cold it really was that day because they killed it on camera. I'm amazed at all three of them (the fourth was more than cozy in the oven), and for the mother especially. Not only did she change outfits in the open biting air, she maintained all her grace and elegance throughout the entire shoot. You would never know from the images that she was freezing her, well, everything off. She wanted nothing more than to have wonderful memories to look back on, even if that meant shivering for an hour to obtain them. She is a strong woman and a wonderful role model for her girls. One day her baby will look back at these in awe and know she was loved from day zero. (bc)
