SELF-PORTRAIT HOW-TO: This week was a very special week because I had the experience of having my belly beautified by a professional Henna tattoo artist. She was amazing and did an amazing job. I wanted the Henna to be the main focus of my photos, so I left my face and most of body out of view. I hung a black background behind me and used the door off to the left side of the frame for my light source. I set up my camera on a tripod across the room and that was it. I increased the aperture to 7.1 to make sure the tattoo was as crisp as possible. The ISO was set at 200 and the shutter was kept low, at 1/60, to let in plenty of light without needing to have a high ISO. I wanted the photo clear and crisp but not noisy. In photoshop I upped the contrast for added drama and detail and zoomed in close to give the Henna tattoo center stage.
